KIEV – This 50-year-old man from Japan is a member yakuza . The gangster is now in Ukraine to fight against the army Russia .
Hasan—an alias—has trained with the Georgia Foreign Legion as a sniper. He hopes to return to the front in the Ukrainian counteroffensive next spring.
For now, Haruan is on guard outside the military barracks in the Ukrainian capital, Kyiv or Kiev.
This is a far cry from his former criminal life.
In fact, Hadan had no prior military experience, spoke no local language, and the trip to Ukraine was his first trip abroad.

But his work ethic, life experience, and inked tattoos all over his body made him a favorite among his colleagues.
“I came to Ukraine to atone for my past sins,” he said.
“I will stay until the war is over, or until my body can’t take the job anymore,” he said, as quoted by ABC.net.au.
His father was a yakuza boss and spent little time at home.
