The higher costs for the organization are mainly in the personnel. “During the corona period, a lot of staff left festival land and they didn’t come back,” says the organizer of Ribs and Blues. “To give an example, tents, podiums, catering squares, fencing: it’s all handmade. You pay the top price for that and you almost threaten to get into the situation where they say, here’s the tent, come and get it yourself and set up,” says Doppen.
