“A new date to remember, a new joy for the city, for the people, for history. Thanks to all of you guys! Come on Naples!”. Diego Maradona’s Instagram page (who died on November 25, 2020) thus celebrates the Napoli championship, 33 years after the one won with el Pibe de Oro on the pitch.
And below are among the many likes of his daughter Gianinna, who in turn dedicated a long post to the Napoli championship, accompanied by photos of her sister on the pitch with her father, on the occasion of the 1990 championship: “My favorite photo. My sister (Dalma) and him, my eternal captain of happy moments. After 33 years, my age… Naples is champion again! I hug you from here until we see each other again! The most present absentee. Thanks for so much love Neapolitans of my heart! Congratulations!”.

Claudia Villafane, ex-wife of Diego Maradona and mother of Dalma and Gianinna, also published a story on Instagram to celebrate the Scudetto obtained by Napoli. An image shows a blue sky with the words “Naples Champion of Italy” and “you are certainly celebrating, the sky is celebrating”, referring to the champion who died almost three years ago who had led the blue team to conquer the first two titles. And in the story, Claudia lets herself be filmed while she dances in the street waving a Naples flag in the company of Donato De Santis, a well-known Argentinean chef and television face.
