After months of anticipation and a few weeks of rumors, Warner Bros. Games has announced Mortal Kombat 1 with a release date and an impressive trailer. Featuring a new Mortal Kombat universe created by Liu Kang (God of Fire), the game will also feature a new kombat system, game modes, and fatalities. However, Amazon has now leaked another of the novelties of the title: the first characters to arrive via DLC.
Mortal Kombat 1 has started its pre-order campaign, being two of the three editions which include a Kombat Pack consisting of classic MK characters, 6 new playable characters, 5 new kameo characters, one week early access to DLC characters, Jean-Claude Van Damme skin for Johnny Cage, and 2,700 Dragon Crystals (premium in-game currency).
Now, Amazon Italy has revealed the list of characters through the product sheet, anticipating that they will be Quan Chi, Omni Man, Ermac, Takeda, Peacemaker y Homelander those who jump into the combat arena of Mortal Kombat 1. Curiously, these last two had already been leaked previously.
Mortal Kombat I, a restart of the saga
Developed by NetherRealm Studios, Mortal Kombat 1 will hit stores next September 19th for Xbox Series S|X, PS5, Nintendo Switch and PC. Its new immersive story mode will present the favorite characters of the saga “as you’ve never seen them before” along with the so-called “kameo kombatants” through a completely new plot, to choose from a rich cast of characters.
Pre-orders of the game, already available in different physical and digital stores, reward with Shang Tsung as another playable character along with access to the game’s beta that will take place in August for PlayStation and Xbox consoles.
