The Juve coach: “It’s normal that when there are no results, we all ask ourselves questions. We talk to the club every day, but not about the future: we’ll do it from 5 June”
“Tomorrow is the last game… of this season at home”. The Juventus coach Massimiliano Allegri thus glosses over, in the presentation press conference on the eve of the match against Milan, on the possibility that it could be his last match at the Stadium. “With the club we are in line on everything. I am a coach and I have never had the power – nor do I want to have it – to make choices, from the sporting director to the secretary, which I have never vetoed. I have always been a businessman and I care a lot about the company I work for, I collaborate with all the people who are made available by the club: we need to bring results for Juventus”.
Has anything changed these days in relations with the company? “Nothing has changed, it’s normal that when results are lacking we all ask ourselves questions. I spoke to the company four days ago, the engineer (Elkann, ed.) wanted us to feel his support, words that can only do us good “, replied Allegri, who specified on his contractual situation: “I have another two years on my contract and I will commit myself to the end to ensure that Juventus return to compete in the league next year. But we will work on next season from 5 June, from the negative things of this season we will emerge fortified for next year”. And again: “We talk to the club every day, but not about the future. We will do it on June 5 when everything is over, because the present is tomorrow. We have already had too many distractions from January onwards”.
