howard the duck
Seth Green first played Howard the Duck in the memorable Guardians of the Galaxy post-credits scene when he was released from the Collector in Wisdom. He would later appear in the second installment, and could even be seen during the final battle of Avengers: Endgame, not counting his appearance in the What if…?
In the new Guardians of the Galaxy movie, Howard, sporting a rather nifty new look, returns and takes part in a game of space poker on Wisdom alongside Kraglin, Cosmo, and a few other familiar faces.
Bzermikitokolok
The Guardians of the Galaxy Christmas special was an absolute delight and started with The Old 97 singing “I don’t know what Christmas is (but Christmas is here)”.
In Vol 3, the band’s lead singer and guitarist, Rhett Miller, is still in Wisdom, as Bzermikitokolok is also part of the poker game alongside Howard, Kraglin, cosmo, and a few other cameos mentioned below. .
The Broker
If this character’s face sounded familiar to you but you didn’t know where you had seen it, don’t worry. During the game of Space Poker, we see Christopher Fairbank’s Broker, a character we saw in the first Guardians of the Galaxy movie.
Fairbank was the merchant who worked on Xandar and agreed to buy the Orb from the Ravagers.
Yondu
James Gunn always said he wouldn’t resurrect Yondu after his heartbreaking death in Vol. 2 and he’s stuck to his word. However, after appearing in an animated flashback in guardians of the galaxy special happy holidaysMichael Rooker reprises the role in this third part.
Appearing as a vision to the frightened Kraglin, he offers his former companion some key advice that helps him use his boss’s old arrow to fend off the wisdom attack.
Rocket’s friends
As we learn more about Rocket’s origin story, we’re introduced to the friends he made while imprisoned by the high evolved. Lylla, Floor, and Teefs are voiced by Linda Cardellini, Mikaela Hoover (who played Nova Prime’s assistant in the first film), and Asim Chaudhry, respectively.
Later in the film, a horrified Mantis unleashes one of the villain’s most twisted experiments, but you may not have realized that Phlektik in the original version was played by Suicide Squad star Pete Davidson.
Steemie
Stephen Blackeheart’s Steemie had a knife put to his throat by Drax in the first movie, we also saw it in the recently Guardians of the Galaxy Happy Holidays special.
This time, he can be seen helping to evacuate the High Evolutionary’s ship in what turns out to be a nice memory of a very minor character who clearly has his own history in another corner of this shared world.
the original guardians
Not all of the original Guardians of the Galaxy return for this third installment, but Sylvester Stallone is back as Stakar Ogord as is Michael Rosenbaum as Martinex.
Loki star Tara Strong replaces singer Miley Cyrus as the voice of Mainframe, while the silent Krugarr also appears. We don’t know what happened to Charlie-27 and Aleta Ogord.
Nathan Fillion and other familiar faces
Nathan Fillion has a cameo again in Guardians of the Galaxy, if in the first film he played one of the prisoners in the jail where the team is locked up, here he plays Karja, the master of the orgoscope guard, while Daniela Melchior who played to Ratcatcher II in The Suicide Squad, she appears as an orgoscope employee named Ura.
Ant-Man star Judy Greer voices War Pig in the original version in one of the film’s most unexpected cameos, and Gunn’s wife Jennifer Holland (Peacemaker) plays Kwol, as the person in charge of the orgoscope. .
