Bali United officially announced Adilson Maringa as the new goalkeeper to face the 2023/2024 League 1.
He was brought in to add to the team’s strength in the goalkeeping sector along with last season’s Bali United goalkeepers, Muhammad Ridho Djazulie and Rakasurya.
The 32-year-old goalkeeper comes with a pretty flashy track record with Arema FC in his first season experiencing the atmosphere of the Indonesian football competition.
He has succeeded in bringing Arema FC to finish in the top four positions in the BRI League 1 2021/2022 season.
In addition, he led Arema FC to an unbeaten record in 23 consecutive matches in its inaugural season, keeping 14 clean sheets from 30 appearances with Arema FC throughout that season.

Meanwhile, in his second season, Adilson Maringa managed to bring Arema FC to win the 2022 President’s Cup pre-season tournament and he was named the best player.
Based on that track record, Bali United coach Stefano Cugurra is confident and has no doubts about the quality of the Brazilian goalkeeper, even though his performance last season was slightly off.
“The team needs a new goalkeeper. Maringa (Adilson) has played well at Arema FC and has won the 2022 President’s Cup. Maringa was also selected as the best player,” said the coach who is familiarly called Teco as quoted from the PT LIB website, Thursday (18/5/ 2023).
“The coaching team have seen him play several times at his previous club. This is also a recommendation from Bali United’s goalkeeping coach, Coach Marcelo,” he added.
Stefano Cugurra hopes that Adilson Maringa can quickly adapt to the team.
“We will definitely help him adapt quickly to the Bali United team,” he stressed.
