Benito Battilani, who fortunately did not suffer damage to the collection in via Poiano in Imola, took action to support less fortunate collectors. A committee was born to raise funds and distribute them correctly
31 maggio 2023
It was the Resto del Carlino of 31 May that published the news: motorcycle collectors are on the track to help their colleagues in Romagna who have been flooded. In Imola, in recent days, a committee formed by the president Benito Renzo Battilani and by Alessio Ridi, Paolo Massari and Giuliano Galassi. Scope: support enthusiasts of historic and vintage motorcycles affected by bad weather and floods.
The first objective is to prepare a specific handbook, necessary for “divide the proceeds into percentage parts for the restoration of damaged specimens from water and mud”.
Benito Battilani, who needs no introduction, immediately called, specifies in the meantime that he fortunately escaped, that he has not suffered any personal damage; then he gives us some more references. In fact, the owners of the historical pieces involved in the hydrogeological disaster of the region are invited to produce paper and photographic documentation in such a way that the extent of the problems can be ascertained and the “support quotas” equally distributed.
The material will be sent to the committee via Whatsapp on 347 2980268, or via e-mail at: benito.battilani@alice.it.
Many organizations, clubs, associations and motorcyclists have already made a commitment to disseminate the initiative and there is also a current account for donations. Transfers must be made to: IBAN IT62T3608105138280129780139 specifying the reason for payment “historic motorcycles flooded Emilia Romagna 2023”.
