TAIPEI – There are at least five countries that operate the most F-16 fighter jets in the world. Some of them are members of NATO.
Recently, the F-16 fighter jet has become a hot topic of conversation. Especially after the President of the United States (US) Joe Biden gave permission to other countries that wanted to send F-16s to Ukraine.
Looking at its history, the F-16 is a fighter jet produced by Lockheed Martin. Not only the US, users are also quite a lot in the world. Not limited to NATO members, but also other countries out there.
Launching Statista data, here are five countries that operate the most F-16 fighter jets in the world.

1. United States
The United States is the country with the most F-16s. Looking at its background, the F-16 was built based on an agreement between the US and its NATO partners such as Belgium, Denmark, the Netherlands and Norway.
Quoting the Airforce page, the United States armed forces themselves have received many variants of the F-16 fighter jet from Lockheed Martin. Since September 2001, the F-16 has been a major component of the US arsenal.
According to Statista data, as of 2022 the United States has around 936 active units of F-16s. This makes him the owner of the most fighter jets among other countries.
2. Turki
Next is Türkiye. This country is a member of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization or NATO.
According to Statista data, Türkiye has around 243 F-16 fighter jets. This figure places it as one of the largest after the United States.
