JAKARTA – Russia’s invasion of Ukraine has been in the public spotlight. As a result, it is not uncommon for countries to often provide arms support to Ukraine to fend off its opponents.
The United States is one of the main support countries for Ukraine. Even so, it turns out that there are also countries that are listed as providing the most weapons assistance to Ukraine.
The following five countries provide the most military weapons assistance to Ukraine:
1. United States
Since the start of the war between Ukraine and Russia, the United States has been the main backer for Ukraine. It is noted that the US has currently spent USD 75 billion in funds to Ukraine which includes humanitarian, financial and military assistance.
The weapons supplied by the US to Ukraine include radars, drones and Himars multi-rocket launchers. Most recently, Joe Biden also added other weapons such as ammunition, howitzers and Javelin anti-tank missiles.
2. England
At present, Britain is also listed as the second largest country after America which has succeeded in supplying military weapons to Ukraine. So far the UK has committed £4.6 billion in military aid to Ukraine.
In addition to financial assistance, the UK is also willing to host a training program which is open to 30,000 Ukrainian personnel. Moreover, in the near future the UK will also provide long-range precision attack missiles.
3. Germany
As a country that has sophisticated military weapons, Germany is also included in the list of countries that have helped Ukraine a lot. In 2023, this Panzer Country has funded Ukraine as much as 5.4 billion Euros.
For its own military weapons assistance, Germany has sent many weapons to Ukraine. Some of them are like 18 battle tanks, 40 infantry fighting vehicles and 50 DINGO vehicles.
4. Canada
Since the invasion in 2022, the Canadian government has provided large amounts of financial assistance to Ukraine. In 2023, Canadian Prime Minister Trudeau has disbursed loans to Ukraine of USD 2.4 billion.
In addition to financial assistance, Canada will also soon be supplying Ukraine with heavy weapons assistance. Call it like four units of Leopard 2 which is the result of production from Germany.
5. Poland
In its history, Poland was the first country to announce its readiness to supply Heavy Tanks to Ukraine. As a result, Kyiv has received over 200 Soviet-style and 14 Western-style tanks.
Launching from the visitukraine.today page, Wednesday (24/5/2023), Poland is also ready to
hosting Ukrainian refugees on its territory. To date, more than 1.5 million Ukrainians have taken refuge under Polish rule.
