MOSCOW – The breakthrough of the Russian border in Belgorod showed the weak side of the Russian army. It also strengthened Ukraine’s counter-defensive efforts against Russia.
The soldiers who disrupted the Belgorod region were called by Russia as saboteurs. A total of 70 soldiers have been defeated and killed. The Russians managed to force the remaining troops back into Ukraine.
Who exactly are the soldiers who are able to penetrate the Russian border. The following are 2 army groups that show the weakness and fragility of Russia’s borders and are valuable lessons for the Russian military. The 2 groups are known as anti-Putin groups.
1. Liberty of Russia Legion (FRL)
The Liberty of Russia Legion is trying to create a safe zone for Ukraine.
The group has in the past been described as part of an international legion involved in Ukraine’s territorial defense.
The FRL became a very different organization fighting alongside Ukrainian troops against Russian troops. It used the white-blue-white flag, seen by some of the Russian opposition as the “free Russia” flag.
Andriy Yusov of the Kyiv intelligence directorate said the FRL group was working autonomously on Russian territory. Yusov claims that Ukraine was not involved. Meanwhile Ukrainian TV said they were militiamen and “Russian volunteers”.
