After the events of the Eternals movie (2021) many fans wonder if we will see Ikaris (Richard Madden) again in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. This is how the actor responds.
Attention SPOILERS. In the movie Eternals we discover that the mission of these powerful beings is to help the birth of a Celestial. Although, that entails the destruction of the planet they have lived on for a long time. But the protagonists decide to face this fate despite the fact that Ikaris (Richard Madden) opposes it.
When everything goes well for Earth, Ikaris himself apologizes for killing Ajax and decides to go to the sun. So we leave him for dead. But in the comics, he’s been resurrected, so the same thing could happen in the Marvel movies.
What does Richard Madden think? This is how he responds in a recent interview with CB.
“Well, it flew into the sun. It’s kind of hard to come back from that. It is not like this?”. Said the actor.

While interviewer Chris Killian laughed off the jokes, noting, “But, I mean, if he’s like Superman, that makes him more powerful. He will just come back unstoppable. So, we no longer have a sun. Thank you so much”.
So, everything suggests that we will not see it again, also, for now they have not confirmed that they will make Eternals 2. Although the story was very interesting.
What will happen to the rest of the characters?
Eternals begins in ancient Mesopotamia, when these powerful beings arrive to protect humanity from the Deviants, their ancient enemies. The team consists of Ajak (Salma Hayek), Sersi (Gemma Chan), Ikaris (Richard Madden), Kingo (Kumail Nanjiani), Makkari (Lauren Ridloff), Phastos (Brian Tyree Henry), Sprite (Lia McHugh), Gilgamesh (Ma Dong-seok), Druig (Barry Keoghan), and Thena (Angelina Jolie). They have unique abilities that allow them to control matter, manipulate energy, and heal wounds.
After centuries of protecting humanity, the Eternals split up and live in different parts of the world, however when cosmic events begin to affect Earth, Ajak reunites them and reveals that the real reason they were created was to protect the planet from a catastrophic event.
They discover that the Deviants are not the true enemy, but that their creator, a Celestial known as Arishem, plans to judge Earth on its ability to generate enough energy for the Celestials to be born. The heroes decide to fight against Arishem to protect humanity, but discover that the task will not be easy, and the team is divided and face each other.
Marvel’s Eternals
During the movie, Ajax and Gilgamesh are killed, while at the end, Ikaris leaves for the sun and Sprite becomes a human. But the Celestials are not happy and Arishem captures Kingo, Sersi and Phastos. So Thena, Makkari and Druig decide to rescue them. So it will be interesting to see what happens to them.
