Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves starts its run at the box office well, but falls short compared to John Wick 4
Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves has gotten off to a solid start in theaters, but it fell short of the numbers achieved by John Wick 4 in the same amount of time.
According to Deadline, Dungeons & Dragons has raised 5.6 million dollarsa figure that includes the 4.1 million dollars from the projections made on Thursday night, in addition to the profits from the functions at the beginning of the week.
Who will get first place?
Although Dungeons & Dragons’ numbers are good, they lag behind the $8.9 million that John Wick 4 managed to get in Thursday’s screenings, a film that ended its opening weekend with $73.8 million.
On the other hand, the figures for the film starring Chris Pine are above the 5.45 million dollars obtained by Creed III in Thursday’s projections, numbers that rose to $58.7 million at the end of its first weekend. However, the income earned by Dungeons & Dragons are below those of Scream VIa movie that made $5.7 million on Thursday night and finished with $44.5 million on its opening weekend.
The war between Dungeons & Dragons and John Wick 4 for the top spot at the box office will not be easy for either film. On the one hand, it is expected that John Wick 4 make another $30 million, while Dungeons & Dragons could rake in $30-40 million. If D&D is closer to 40 than 30, the odds of getting to the top spot go up, but it’s not a sure bet.
