LONDON – Rond Sheppard (74) was dubbed the “most married man” in English having been married eight times. Now he’s moved into a nursing home after claiming his wives had “tired his body”.
Sheppard has been making headlines in England for years for getting married too many times.
Sheppard now feels his dating days are over, and plans to enjoy his next life in the comforts of a retirement home.
She will be leaving her two-bedroom flat in Somerton for a new life in a nursing home on the Isle of Wight, where she can be closer to her family.
Sheppard has eight children from several previous marriages.
He first married when he was 19 years old in 1966 to a woman named Margaret. The couple, who share three children, divorced after two years of marriage.
Sheppard then married his second wife, Jeanette, in 1973.
He subsequently married a third time to Lesley in 1976, then to Kathy in 1982, to Sue in 1986, to Usha in 1999, to Wan in 2003 and to Weng in 2004.
But now Sheppard wants to spend some time alone as he picks up a much slower pace in the nursing home, becoming wheelchair dependent and a team of caregivers who visit him three times a day for various medical conditions, including Parkinson’s disease, Lewy Body Dementia, COPD and Arachnoiditis.
