This week is very important for Microsoft and everything related to the purchase of Activision Blizzard. This is because the UK Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) will finally announce its verdict on this important deal.
According to The Financial Times, Microsoft has the upper hand, so the UK body is expected to approve the acquisition of the prominent studio without further ado. There is very little left to know what will happen, since the CMA will rule on the matter no later than Wednesday, April 26.

The CMA would approve the purchase of Activison very soon
Jonathan Moules, a journalist for The Financial Times, wrote an article called Back To Life (via The Gamer), where he talks about the world economy and its current state. In one section he talks about the technology industry and Microsoft’s purchase of Activision Blizzard.
He says the CMA will give its verdict this week and is expected to back the acquisition and thus approve it. We know that the body has changed its position on the agreement, since initially it was strongly opposed and now it sided with Microsoft.
“The Competition and Markets Authority must finally rule on whether to block the acquisition of the game manufacturer Activision Blizzard by the technology company (…) although it is likely that it will not, since the CMA is expected to support it, “he said. Moules.
Following an investigation, the CMA concluded that it would not make sense for Microsoft to make Call of Duty exclusive to Xbox. For this reason, he believes that the purchase of Activision Blizzard will not harm the competition. This despite all the arguments that Sony, the main detractor, has presented in recent months.
While the CMA still has other concerns about the deal, Activision Blizzard is confident the purchase will go through. Mainly because Microsoft has already presented solutions to issues such as cloud gaming and services.
