There are many rumors that Scarlett Johansson and Gwyneth Paltrow could not stand each other during the filming of Iron Man 2. Is it true?
Actresses Scarlett Johansson and Gwyneth Paltrow have been at Marvel Studios since the beginning as Natasha Romanoff and Pepper Potts, but curiously they only shared scenes in Iron Man 2. For this reason, there has always been a kind of black legend that they could not stand each other in the filming of that film and that is why they did not get back together.
Now, Scarlett Johansson and Gwyneth Paltrow have participated in The Goop Podcast and have denied all this. Since during the program, this conversation arose and the actress who has given life to Black Widow said:
“You were so nice to me in that movie. She was so petrified. You could have been horrible. I was so out of my comfort zone in that movie. I had never done anything like this before. Also, you had established such deep friendships.”
While the actress who has played Pepper Potts said:
“I was excited for you to join Marvel on the sequel, as I enjoyed having another woman around before working on The Avengers, as it’s a movie like one big hotdog party.”

Will Natasha Romanoff / Black Widow and Pepper Potts return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe?
Actress Scarlett Johansson immediately dismissed the idea of a possible return.
“I finished. The chapter ended. I did everything I had to do. Also coming back and playing a character over and over again, for a decade, is a unique experience.”
While Gwyneth Paltrow hints that she has no intention of coming back either.
“I think I’m done. I mean, I didn’t die so they can always ask me. 64-year-old Pepper Potts? How wonderful”.
In Avengers: Secret Wars they could have a small cameo.
Since, it must be remembered that this Marvel movie will bring together many heroes and villains on a battlefield, so it should not be ruled out that they will convince veterans of the saga to return, even if it is as alternative versions of other universes. So, if we can see Chris Evans as Captain America or Robert Downey Jr. as Iran Man again, they may also be able to convince Scarlett Johansson and Gwyneth Paltrow. We’ll find out when it’s released in 2026.
