First images of the season of The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power! And they contain major spoilers about the story.
The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power has leaked a spectacular spoiler. Production of the Amazon Prime Video series continues to go from strength to strength in the UK. And a new photograph of the filming set shared by Redanian Intelligence has confirmed the return of a major character who apparently died in the first season. What a piece of spoiler they have put us!

It is not a great surprise, but, as can be seen in the images that accompany the information in this tweet, Maxim Baldry is back as Isildur. It was during the first season of The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power when we saw the character presumably die inside a burning cabin after saving the life of Queen Míriel. This occurred when the citizens of Númenor faced the orcs in the Solid Lands. And while it was a heroic sacrifice, it also upset many fans. After all, his death would be a major divergence from JRR Tolkien’s novels.
A change that made no narrative sense

In the Fellowship of the Ring book and movie, the story begins with Isildur cutting the One Ring from Sauron’s hand upon the death of his father. It changed the story completely. Following Sauron’s fall, this led to the destruction of the villain’s physical form and Isildur himself being corrupted by the power of the One Ring. Finally, he lost his prize when a group of orcs that had been drawn by his power attacked him and his men. The One Ring ended up in a river in the Gladden Fields, where he remained until Smeagol discovered it years later, transforming into Gollum over the years.
