We must choose well what we eat to enjoy good health. The doctor Odile Fernández, overcame a cancer with metastasis thanks to conventional medicine combined with food.
He applied several diet changes in his process and managed to overcome the disease. “Most of chronic diseases we can prevent with a healthy lifestyle,” she says. The order in which one prepares his dish and eats it is important to gain health. Odile follows the model that our grandmothers used in the traditional Mediterranean diet.
The Mediterranean diet as the basis of health
“I start with a raw starter, I season it with vinegar, I continue with the main one where there must be fat and protein. The best extra virgin olive oil. Then the protein and starches. Choose with rice, put potato on it and accompany it with bread whole wheat, better than white. Always for dessert: fruit”, he explains.
If the day is a bit special we can eat some dark chocolate. To regulate inflammation and glycemia on a day-to-day basis, it is important to avoid lying down after eating and doing some exercise. It serves to take a little weight and do a series of squats.
The doctor suggests having a salty breakfast and changing the typical Spanish breakfast of toast, jam or croissant for scrambled eggs with vegetables or avocado, for example. Vinegar must be added to food to regulate blood sugar.
He also advises doing intermittent fasting with 12 or 16 hours of rest between meals. He also recommends changing salt and sugar for aromatic species and having a good rest.
