The director of the just-announced Star Wars: The Dawn of the Jedi makes some surprising statements about what he wants to do with his movie
We recently shared the excellent news that all fans of George Lucas’s famous galactic saga will soon be able to enjoy and that were announced at the Star Wars Celebration which took place yesterday. Although the madness broke out with Ahsoka, among these novelties, we saw that we would have three new films based on three different eras and, specifically, the one directed by James Mangold it will take place about 25,000 years before the first republic.
As we discussed yesterday, this makes us anticipate that the film will be about the birth and origin of the Jedi order, how they became the religion we all know, and how the force came to be. And this idea gains even more strength with the comments that Mangold himself made, according to Variety:
It’s an opportunity to tell the whole story of the birth of the Force. When I first spoke to Kathy Kennedy about it, I just said, ‘I see this opening to do a kind of Ben-Hur or The 10 commandments on the birth of the Force‘. The Force has become something of a religious legend that runs through all of these movies. But, where does it come from? How are you? Who found her? Who was the first Jedi? And that’s what I’m writing right now.
So, effectively, with Mangold’s film we will see the “Ben-How” o “The 10 Commandments” of the strength. The origin of everything. Interesting right? We are already looking forward to knowing more details about this film.
