After telling you about the Suzuki V-Strom 800DE (click here to read our preview test), the crossover with which the Japanese company has attacked the medium enduro segment, now it’s the turn of the sister GSX-8S. The new Hamamatsu naked stands out immediately for its aggressive look and technical contents. The very sharp lines are enhanced by solid colors which focus attention on the mechanical part, from the chassis to the engine, while the riding position has been designed to accommodate motorcyclists of all sizes.
Born to have fun
The steel tube frame, developed to optimize cornering and agility in tight mixed terrain, relies on an aluminum swingarm and KYB branded suspension. At the front there is a solid upside down fork equipped with Nissin radial mount caliperswhile at the rear the monoshock is manually adjustable in preload.
The beating heart of this novelty is the new 776 cm³ in-line twin-cylinder shared with the V-Strom 800DE. The liquid-cooled block features four valves per cylinder and double overhead camshaft distribution: the engineers have exploited the latest technologies to reduce vibrations and optimize performance, the result is a power of 83 HP at 8,500 rpm and a torque of 78 Nm at 6,800 rpm.

Electronics and price
Fun and sporty driving are enhanced by the standard two-way quick shift but, in addition to this interesting accessory, Suzuki has not spared itself on the electronics front. Thanks to the 5” color TFT dashboard, the driver can manage the three available engine maps and the traction control intervention which, if necessary, can also be deactivated. Available in three colors (Sidney Blue, Oslo White and Nairobi Black), the new GSX-8S confirms the excellent value for money of the Japanese brand’s products: in fact, price list is 8,990 eurosa figure in line with the contents offered and the fierce competitors on the market.
