Konami Digital Entertainment BV has announced that the explosive party game SUPER BOMBERMAN R 2 (SBR2 for short) will be available worldwide on September 14 (physical, digital on September 13). Here is the announcement trailer:
With the largest number of in-game content in the series, SBR2 will allow you to help the Bomberman Brothers experience a new single-player adventure and save the galaxy from the evil Dark Moon. The alternatives will not be lacking, however, as can be understood from the new, crackling Battle Mode. Here are some features of the Battle Mode:
Castle: Fight online in asymmetrical 1v15 matches in this new attack vs defense battle mode! The defending player will be tasked with creating a map and placing defensive traps to slow down the offensive. The defending player will have several options available: terrains, walls, defensive devices and the help of new characters called “Ellon”. The attacker will have to overcome the obstacles created by the defender to reach all the chests and thus win the battle!
Battle 64: This chaotic mode features 64 players at the same time, but only one can claim victory. Conquer fame in this classic battle royal by dominating the battlefield
Grand Prize: Compete to get crystals and defeat your opponents. Team battles are a blast in this mode.
Standard: The beloved classic battle mode of SUPER BOMBERMAN R 1 and SUPER BOMBERMAN ONLINE is back.
In terms of content SBR2 seems to have something for every taste. In fact, to support the new Battle Mode there will also be the Stage Editor, a new and powerful tool that will allow players to create their own stages for the new “Castle” Battle Mode and share them online. The amount of stages to discover and master will be unlimited in SBR2. As for the story, however, we know that Black Moon spaceship ravages the galaxy by destroying cities and planets. The threat looms, so it’s up to the 8 Bomberman Brothers and their new friends, the Ellons to save the universe.
SBR2 will support crossplay and will be available for PlayStation5, PlayStation4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Steam and Nintendo Switch (price should be €49.99).
