Star Wars Jedi Fallen Order It has earned a very good reputation among gamers and in particular Star Wars fans. A game that mixes soulslike action, metroidvania-like exploration and puzzles, and an ambitious story woven between Episodes III and IV.
So it may come as a surprise that, upon its release in November 2019, its critical reception was rather modest. On Metacritic, the PS4 version of Jedi Fallen Order (the one with the most reviews posted) got a 79 average grade.
A near-high notable is a good grade, but one step short of becoming a modern classic. Fortunately, its sequel, Star Wars Jedi Survivorhas fallen even better among the media.
Thanks to that, Star Wars Jedi Survivor becomes one of the best games of 2023 so far… especially if we leave out remakes or remasters!

The Star Wars Jedi Survivor Notes
Star Wars Jedi Survivor reviews are out now, and this time they’re even more positive. On Metacritic, with 82 reviews posted, it reaches a average grade of 86. Again, in the PS5 version, which is the one with the most criticism.
On Metacritic there are three 10s (or five stars, perfect score, come on) and at the other extreme, a 6 and three 7s. Very positive evaluations for the Star Wars game, the vast majority between 80 and 90.
NME: The best action-adventure released in 2023 so far, Star Wars Jedi: Survivor trusts its world and stands behind it for how much fun it is. Essential, perhaps the best action game of the generation so far. 10/10 VGC: Star Wars at its finest. An exciting adventure with an all-star cast coupled with expansive, clever combat and huge new worlds to explore. 10/10 Game Informer: Respawn Entertainment gave some thought to what and what didn’t work in their latest game, and Survivor feels like a worthy attempt at evolution. 9.5/10 IGN: Launch performance issues aside, this is a sequel that does just about everything better than the original, which was already an exceptional game. If Respawn does one more like this, he’ll complete the best Star Wars trilogy in 30 years, hands down. 9/10 Destructoid: I only go Platinum for a few games a year, but I’m considering going Platinum for Jedi Survivor because I liked it so much. 9/10 TheGamer: A decent adventure game with a vibrant but often annoying open world you’re sent back to, rarely allowing you to think for yourself and often just not. 7/10
