Actor Simu Liu offers very positive information about Shang-Chi 2, one of the most anticipated sequels in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
In the year 2021, Marvel Studios introduced a new hero played by Simu Liu with the movie Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings. This installment of the MCU raised 432 million dollars and received very good reviews, so there is a lot of desire that they make Shang-Chi 2 and show us a new adventure of this character.
Now, in a recent interview with Collider, actor Simu Liu has given some good news about Shang-Chi 2.
“Going into a sequel feels exciting. It doesn’t necessarily feel like there’s a pressure to perform or a pressure to exceed. It feels like we’ve established a world and there’s something really nostalgic and exciting about going back to that world that we’ve spent so much time conceiving and thinking about. And then, we can revise some things, but also show the viewer new things. We’ll deliver all of the incredible action that we were celebrated for in the first movie, but then hopefully we’ll also explore new sides of Shaun’s character and the characters around him. That is, of course, if we can still afford Michelle Yeoh. She’s on top of the world and she’s just the queen of it all.”
Remember that Michelle Yeoh played Ying Nan, Shang-Chi’s aunt. But since the first installment was released, she has won an Oscar thanks to her performance in Everything at Once Everywhere (2022). For what she has become one of the most sought-after actresses of the moment.

What will this sequel be about?
For now, we don’t have many details of what Marvel Studios is preparing for Shang-Chi 2, but they will have to reveal the origin of the Ten Rings. Since these bracelets are the source of power of the character played by Simu Liu. But also, they are sending a mysterious signal, so they can bring new allies or enemies. Perhaps this is related to the multiverse war, as the film’s director, Destin Daniel Cretton, is also helming Avengers: The Kang Dynasty (2025).
