Until this Friday it is unknown who spread the images or came up with the idea of seeing what the singer would look like at 51 years of age, the age she would be today.
The murder of Selena Quintanilla was one of the most media events of the 90s. It happened in 1995 in a motel in Corpus Christi, Texas, in the United States.
The singer, who had achieved international fame, was murdered by the president of her fan club Yolanda Saldivarwho was also the manager of the singer’s boutiques. His fans and workers were not happy with the decision, supposedly because of the mistreatment they received from Yolanda Saldívar.
After discovering that Yolanda Saldívar had embezzled money from the boutiques and the fan club, the singer fired her fan club president, who later summoned her to a Corpus Christi, Texas, motel, where she shot him.
The singer died from a bullet shot that caused hypovolemic shock and cardiorespiratory arrest.
After his death, the then Governor of Texas, George W. Bushdeclared the April 16ththe singer’s birthday, like Selena’s Day.
