The Nintendo Switch Online catalog is constantly growing. The extended version, Expansion Pack, also receives new games from time to time and today he revealed when one of the best games in the series will arrive on the service.
We are talking about Pokémon Stadium, a 1999 title for Nintendo 64 that was announced at the end of 2022 that it would come to Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack. Nintendo offered no release dates, instead promising that more games would arrive little by little.
Pokémon Stadium appeared on the list and until today it was confirmed that it will be available this month, precisely as of Wednesday, April 12, 2023 and it will only be necessary to have an active subscription to Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack, the highest rank that gives access to SEGA Genesis and Nintendo Switch Online games.
In a new trailer, Nintendo revealed that one of the main additions is the ability to play online battles with other users, something that was obviously not present in the original game. However, you should note that the online feature will not be available for the minigames (local multiplayer only), which is disappointing.

You will not be able to transfer Pokémon to Pokémon Stadium
Unfortunately, it was not used to confirm compatibility in any way with older games in the series in order to bring Game Boy creatures to Pokémon Stadium and Pokémon Stadium 2.
“Please note that you cannot transfer Pokémon from Game Boy titles to this version,” Nintendo said.
That being said, players of Pokémon Stadium and Pokémon Stadium 2 will have to make do with playing battle mode with borrowed Pokémon that are the same level.
It is not ruled out, however, that Nintendo works on some type of compatibility with Game Boy games in titles from the Nintendo Switch Online catalog or perhaps the arrival of Pokémon Red & Blue & Green to this service in the future.
