No probation for Oscar Pistorius: his lawyer made it known. The South African Paralympic champion was sentenced by the Johannesburg Supreme Court of Appeal to thirteen years and six months for the murder of his girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp, which took place in 2013.
The hearing was held on the Italian night at the Atteridgeville prison, near the capital Pretoria, where the Paralympic athlete who shot and killed his girlfriend 10 years ago is serving his sentence.
A statement released by the Prison Services states that Pistorius will be granted another hearing in August next year. The reason is that “the detainee has not completed the minimum period of detention established by the Supreme Court of Appeal”.
