Only Desmosedici GP on the podium
The Termas de Rio Hondo circuit, in Argentina, has never been particularly favorable to Ducati and to say it are the results. In fact, until this year the Bolognese manufacturer had only obtained three podiums, namely the second place of Jorge Martin (team Pramac) signed in 2022 and two other podiums bearing the name of Andrea Dovizioso, a second place in 2015 and a third in 2019. No victory, therefore, until this year when Marco Bezzecchi dispelled this taboo, winning with supremacy, and Ducati monopolized the podium with Johann Zarco second and Alex Marquez third, with three bikes from private teams, respectively Mooney VR46, Pramac and Gresini.
The seal is missing on two tracks
The current calendar this year includes 21 Grands Prix, but excluding the two new rounds in Kazakhstan in July and India in September, of the 19 appointments where it has already raced, Ducati is missing victory on two circuits. Both will be in the second part of the championship and it’s the Thai track, in Buriram, and the one held in Indonesia.
Thailand has been racing on the Chang International Circuit since 2018 and in the three editions held so far (2018, 2019 and 2022) the first two successes were obtained by Marc Marquez’s Honda, while the last one by Miguel Oliveira, with KTM.
In Indonesia, on the other hand, the World Championship returned to racing last year and on the Mandalika track Oliveira always won ahead of Fabio Quartararo, with Yamaha, and Johann Zarco, with the Ducati of the Pramac team.
