Indonesia – Singer Madonna released the original video clip for her song American Life on Thursday (27/4/2023). The video clip was previously released 20 years ago, but a scene was cut because it was controversial at the time.
Launching Page Six, the five-minute long video that has been broadcast on YouTube seems normal at first. Models can be seen walking down the catwalk in soldier costumes while Madonna sings.
Then came the victims of war on the catwalk. They were beaten until they vomited blood. The fashion connoisseurs who were present laughed arrogantly as the violence continued.
Then, images of actual war victims flashed across the screen, before Madonna emerged from the backstage with a rank and fired a grenade into the crowd.

There are also controversial moments in the “American Life” video such as someone who looks like George W Bush catches a grenade and lights a cigarette.
The video is said to allude to the US invasion of Iraq which took place at that time. Facing mixed reactions before the video was released in 2003, Madonna decided to release a censored version of her music video for “American Life”.
Madonna said that the original video for “American Life” was shot before the start of the war. However, according to him, at that time it was not suitable for airing, even though it was already circulating abroad.
“Because of the current state of the world and out of sensitivity and respect for the armed forces I support and pray for, I don’t want to risk offending anyone who might misinterpret the meaning of this video,” he said.
In the end of the video for the 2023 release, there is a scene of a ticking bomb on the catwalk. Until this news was written, the original music video for “American Life” had been watched 298 thousand times.
