Livorno Calcio has a new owner, Joel Esciua, a Brazilian financier, who will succeed Paolo Toccafondi. However, the current patron will remain in office until the end of the current season. The agreement would have been finalized yesterday and a press conference is scheduled for tomorrow in Livorno where the details of the operation will be illustrated. Esciua was among the claimants to ownership of the Tuscan club: tomorrow, however, the new owner of the amaranth club will not be present at the meeting because he is currently abroad.
RELAUNCH OPERATION
—
The goal would be to relaunch the ambitions of an important club (whose last season in Serie A dates back to 2013-14), currently in Serie D, with around 1900 season-ticket holders. “An operation has been concluded that undoubtedly represents a significant step for Livorno – explained the mayor Luca Salvetti -, because on the one hand it confirms that the operation carried out two years ago of “rebirth” of the club from an economic point of view -financial made it possible to put Livorno itself back on the market that before with 3.5 million euros no one took into consideration “. Then thanking “Paolo Toccafondi, who undoubtedly took over the company when there was no longer even a pen, he rebuilt it, created a solid base, won a championship, albeit in a daring but deserved way and then fought in this series D which is absolutely not easy to win, but above all has given a structure and a perspective”. Finally, Salvetti gave the “welcome to Esciua who has been following Livorno for two years, is behind Livorno, participates in the events of the amaranth team, is close to this city and close to all of us, and he proved it by putting his money. Naturally no one is sure of winning immediately and immediately, but with him there is the certainty of building a virtuous path”.
