What happens is that the Chinese company Nexon sent a cease and desist letter accusing the developer studio Ironmace of theft. This situation caused the title to disappear from the Valve platform.
The legal fight continues and its resolution seems distant. For this reason, everything indicated that Ironmace would have to cancel the trial period scheduled for this weekend. However, despite the fact that the title is not available on Steam, the community will still be able to download and play it.

Through a message on the game’s official Discord, the developers confirmed that players will be able to download Dark and Darker through “old school” methods, that is, through a torrent manager. In addition, they provided the link that will allow access to the download.
“Unfortunately, due to the complexities of our situation, especially in the international arena, resolving the situation with Steam takes longer. In order for us to keep our promise to the fans, we had to resort to old-school methods this time.”
Although we usually associate Torrents with piracy, the truth is that these kinds of tools are very effective for legally sharing large files.

Of course, the developers of Dark and Darker urged fans to be very careful and avoid getting the link from some unofficial source, as it could be a fake that installs malicious software. The torrent link is available from the official Twitter account of the studio and on his Discord server.
All you need to access trial period number 5 of the game that started on April 14 is to have a torrent manager like qBittorrent, copy the link into the program and start downloading. Ironmace warned that there could be some problems in the installation and at the time of starting the title.
