The new Poison Ivy? The reboot of the DC Universe orchestrated by James Gunn could end with Karen Gillan signing for Batman.
Karen Gillan has asked James Gunn to be the new Poison Ivy. The Guardians of the Galaxy star and Nebula actress at Marvel Studios has expressed her interest in playing the villain of Batman in the new DC Universe that Warner Bros. Discovery is launching.
“I always thought Poison Ivy was a lot of fun,” Karen Gillan commented in an interview with Total Film magazine. “Honestly, if James Gunn asked me to play an alien who sits in the background of a plane and doesn’t speak… I would say yes! Because working with him has been one of the great joys of my career to date.”

It should be noted that, for now, it is unknown if James Gunn has any plans for Poison Ivy in the DC Universe. not to mention his Batman movie, titled The Brave and the Bold and co-starring Robin. However, the filmmaker has denied a report that The Suicide Squad star Alice Braga would play the character in the movie we saw in theaters during the 2020 year of the pandemic.
Karen Gillan isn’t the only Marvel Cinematic Universe veteran who has expressed interest in taking a trip to the DC Universe.. In fact, it would make a great Poison Ivy! Star-Lord actor Chris Pratt spoke to CBR about adding him to the franchise, asking fans who they’d like to see in the cast. “As far as DC characters, I don’t know who he should play,” said Chris Pratt. “I’ll let the fans tell me what they’d like me to do. I have nothing official to announce. I haven’t talked to James Gunn about offering me anything like that. But, listen, I love that guy. He is one of my best friends. I totally believe in him. And, if he calls me, I will answer him.
