Indiana Jones 5
Mangold has stated: “In 1995, I had the honor of coming to Cannes with my first film as part of the Directors’ Fortnight. 28 years later, I’m proud to return with a slightly bigger show. My legendary collaborators and myself can’t wait to share with you all one new and latest Indiana Jones adventure!”
Harrison Ford returns to his legendary role accompanied by Phoebe Waller-Bridge (Fleabag), Antonio Banderas (Pain and Glory), John Rhys-Davies (Raiders of the Lost Ark), Toby Jones (Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom), Boyd Holbrook (Logan), Ethann Isidore (Mortal) and Mads Mikkelsen (Fantastic Beasts: Dumbledore’s Secret).
The film is directed by James Mangold and produced by Kathleen Kennedy, Frank Marshall and Simon Emanuel, with Steven Spielberg and George Lucas serving as executive producers. John Williams, who has scored all of Indy’s adventures since the original Raiders of the Lost Ark in 1981, returns to compose the soundtrack.
What we know about the plot of Indiana Jones 5
Although the plot has been kept secret, due to the images that have been leaking from the filming in which banners celebrating the return of Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin after their historic landing on the moon could be seen, as well as propaganda against the Vietnam War, which leads us to believe that at least part of this film will take place in the summer of 1969.
So it will take place 12 years after the events of the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull movie, which happened in 1957. We also know that Phoebe Waller-Bridge’s character plays the daughter of an old friend of Indi’s.
The film will be released on June 30, 2023.
