BEIRUT – Hezbollah’s Chief Executive Council, Hashem Safieddine warned that targeting Al-Aqsa Mosque by Israel would inflame the region.
He made that clear on Thursday (6/4/2023), in brief remarks he gave to Hezbollah Al-Manar TV channel.
“Zionists should know that Al-Aqsa Mosque is not alone; on the contrary, behind it are hundreds of millions of Muslims who are ready to die for it,” he stressed.
Dozens of rockets were fired from Lebanon on Thursday afternoon towards illegal Jewish settlements in the Upper Galilee.
Israeli media reported that the Iron Dome air defense system intercepted a missile fired at an Upper Galilee settlement.
Israel announced that four Israeli settlers were injured after rockets were fired from southern Lebanon towards Israeli settlements in northern Israel.
In the last two nights, the Israeli occupation authorities attacked worshipers and those stationed at the Aqsa Mosque and forcibly dispersed the congregation at Al-Qibli Mosque.
Worshipers were subjected to brutal beatings and assaults by the Israeli army. The main gate of Al-Aqsa was damaged. In addition, nearly 500 worshipers were arrested and another 150 people were injured.
After that, the Israeli extremist group stormed the Al-Aqsa courtyard with the protection of the Israeli army and police to celebrate the Easter holiday.
Jewish settlers are also encouraged to slaughter sacrificial animals in the courtyards of Al-Aqsa Mosque.
