The controversy of the day! The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power has found another enemy beyond the haters… On HBO!
HBO has laughed at The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power. Last summer we saw how the streaming platform and Amazon Prime Video clashed with similar series such as the Game of Thrones spin-off, House of the Dragon, and the JRR Tolkien series.

The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power had pretty high ratings, but House of the Dragon got some crazy numbers on HBO. Recently, Warner Bros. Discovery revealed that it was going to change the name of the streaming platform and simply call it Max. Since then, the company has been running ads promoting what will be in the new streaming service.

And one of those ads turns out to be uses Game of Thrones to laugh at The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power. In this ad, we see an image of Daenerys Targaryen (Emilia Clarke) with the caption “the one to see when you want to rule them all,” which is a pun on “One Ring to Rule Them All” from the franchise. Beyond the Amazon series, Game of Thrones creator George RR Martin has spoken about the Jon Snow spin-off in development within HBO. He did so in a new blog post of his. In said blog post, he revealed that he collaborated with Kit Harington on the series. As well as two other writers and showrunners who remain a mystery.. George RR Martin wrote in the blog post that he couldn’t reveal who would be writing the series, but Kit Harington’s team is fantastic.
