TIMELINE – An inspirational story comes from the actor, Alfie Alfandy. The actor who plays the character Ustaz Jefry Albichori (Uje) in the film Hijrah Cinta tells of his spiritual journey to meet the angel of death, Azrael.
Alfie was originally a person who was addicted to the world of drinking to the point where he regularly took drugs. Sabu and his friends became Alfie’s loyal friends in the past.
He admitted that he had experienced an overdose (OD) several times. Routinely consuming these illicit goods makes Alfie’s life even worse. The glittering world of artists makes Alfie forget his essence.
He said that once he experienced OD until his toes and knees were stiff and numb. This was felt by Alfie after he consumed drugs.

“Until the toes and knees are already blue. This is death,” said Alfie in his chat on Habib Abdallah bin Jafar Assegaf’s YouTube channel (29/9/2021).
“There’s no taste. For God’s sake, if I die now I’m rotting in the grave.
Being picked up by a friend is like lifting a carcass, because it smells,” he added.
When Alfie feels the pain of an overdose due to consuming the drug, he admits that he is shown a very scary figure. That figure, he said, is the Angel Azrael.
“From 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., Allah showed the Angel Azrael before our eyes,” he said.
The 30-year-old actor said he did not see Angel Azrail’s face. At that time, he only saw from the shoulder to the bottom of the angel of death.

“Not his face, but just like this (pointing to the shoulder) from the shoulder down,” he said.
“In a narration it is explained, the angel of Israel visits us at least 83 times a day,” he added.
Habib Abdallah bin Jafar Assegaf, who hosted the event, questioned whether Alfie really saw the Angel Azrael, or maybe part of a hallucination.
“It’s true, at first I (I) thought it was embarrassing, because there was a desire there but it turned out that when I woke up, there was nothing to sleep, sleep was awake again in front of my eyes, the fur was clear,” Alfie replied.
That, he said, is a lesson for us to avoid immorality and a proof for Alfie that God is very good to his creatures.
“The lesson from this is that if Allah opened the barrier, this hijab for the sake of Allah none of us would dare to commit immorality. For Allah’s sake, Allah is very good to us,” he explained.
