That’s not that difficult, is it? This is the Genesis GV80 Coupe.
SUV Coupés are the bomb. You can now shop for the separate body shape in all kinds of segments. From a pricey Porsche Cayenne Coupé to a more affordable Renault Arkana. Genesis also ventures into this form with the new GV80 Coupé.
Immediately starting production, the luxury brand from Korea is going a step too far. So this is a concept for now. The model was unveiled at a private event at New York’s Genesis House.
In fact, it is a new variant of the X Speedium Coupe Concept unveiled last year. They took inspiration from this model and then came up with the GV80 Coupé.
The model range of Genesis is starting to take shape. You have the regular models such as the G70, G80 and G90. The brand’s SUVs have the letter V behind them. The GV80 and GV70 already exist, the former has now received a new model variant, or a concept. Genesis presents the model very sporty. With bucket seats, a roll cage and even a racing helmet.
The brand does not make it clear whether the Genesis GV80 Coupé will actually go into production. For now, it remains a concept. Presumably they first look at the reaction to the model to gauge whether a production should indeed be the next step.
Genesis is a luxury brand of Hyundai. They are active in their home country of South Korea, but also in North America. Last year, the brand made the move to Europe. Genesis is not (yet) active in the Netherlands.
