The acclaimed video game The Last of Us continues to be a topic of conversation in popular culture this year. Not only because of the success of the HBO television adaptation that ended a few weeks ago in 2022, but also because of the PC release of the first remastered installment of the game that has recently caused great controversy due to countless errors in its execution.
Unfortunately, the PC port of the game was released in a sorry condition and this was not very well received by users, due to the usual tone of excellence that Naughty Dog puts on all its products. This made it one of the worst games released on PC, and the lowest rated ever made by the company, resulting in many full refunds to disappointed buyers. Despite this, Naughty Dog has worked quickly to fix the game’s most serious issues and while there are still some details to iron out, Part I is now much more playable than it was in its original release.
But these fixes have convinced PC gamers to see the beauty of the game, but one of them has pushed this far beyond reality, saying after finishing it for the first time that he considers it “the best game ever”. . This obviously aroused many opinions.
Reddit user Seiozmak wrote: “As a PC only gamer I was finally able to finish The Last of Us Part I and I think it might be the best game I’ve ever played. (…) Wow, what a trip. I knew it was a great game because some of my friends recommended it over the years, but I can say that it exceeded all my expectations. In general, I don’t even like zombie games or movies, but this game is so much more than that.” They continued, “I am overwhelmed with all the emotions. I’ve played a lot of games over the years, but I feel like The Last of Us is the closest to perfection.”
“The story is absolutely incredible and now I feel empty and scared that I will never experience anything like this again. I admit the PC port isn’t great and I had some bugs and issues but luckily nothing game breaking and I managed to get a stable 40fps out of my PC but that didn’t stop me from appreciating the game itself. Obviously the fans of the game said “Welcome to the club”.
Now we just wait for Part II of the game to come out, but with the lessons learned by Naughty Dog, I hope this time they don’t ruin the experience offered on PlayStation.
