Suara.com – Coach Shin Tae-yong said the U-20 Indonesian National Team would be disbanded after it was confirmed that they would fail to appear at the 2023 U-20 World Cup. The South Korean tactician will return the players to their respective clubs.
FIFA officially revoked Indonesia’s status as host of the 2023 U-20 World Cup, Wednesday (29/3/2023). This certainty also aborted the U-20 Indonesian National Team as a participant.

“After this, the players will be disbanded. Who prepared for the U-20 World Cup yesterday,” said Shin Tae-yong when met at the Bung Karno Main Stadium (SUGBK), Senayan, Jakarta, Saturday (1/4/2023).
Indeed, apart from the World Cup, the U-20 Indonesian National Team has no other agenda. Meanwhile, the U-22 Indonesian National Team which will compete in the 2023 SEA Games has been given to Indra Sjafri.

Therefore, Shin Tae-yong will be unemployed at least until June 2023 or until the FIFA matchday which involves the senior Indonesian national team.
“Indeed, because yesterday the SEA Games clashed with the U-20 World Cup, you can’t help but be able to hold the SEA Games national team,” explained Shin Tae-yong.
“So finally now coach Indra is in charge and there really isn’t any schedule until June 10. So maybe we have to think about what the next agenda is,” he concluded.
