What is the discount on the buses?
It is the Secretariat of Infrastructure, Communications and Transportation (SICT) that enforces the discounts of 50 and 25 percent, respectively, for students and teachers. traveling by federal passenger or rail transport, during the vacation period of Easter 2023.
To get the benefits, students and teachers should only show their current credential or proof of the school to which they belong to the service providers; which should contain name and photograph of the holder, account number or registration and seal of the institution.
Discounts on motor transport or rail service they are put into effect during the official holiday period established by the Ministry of Public Education (SEP). In this way, the credentials with which teachers and students must accredit this right must be from the following educational institutions:
SEP education systems
Addresses or departments of education of the federal entities
National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM)
National Polytechnic Institute (IPN)
Universities throughout the Republic
Institutes, free schools of law, commerce and homeopathy
College of Bachelors
Schools incorporated into the aforementioned institutions
It is important to remember that the rate reduction will be made in all public service runs of rail passenger transport in its modality of regular interurban and in the first and economic services of the federal motor transport of passengers.
Holiday Operation Starts Easter Week 2023 on highways and bus terminals
The SICT reported that As of this April 1, the Easter 2023 holiday operation begins on federal highways and passenger bus terminalsto provide safety and prevent accidents.
In this special program, in force until April 16public servants of the General Directorate of Protection and Preventive Medicine in Transport (DGPMPT), of the General Directorate of Federal Motor Transport (DGAF) and of the SICT Centers will participate, in coordination with elements of the National Guard.
Priority will be given, with preventive objectives, to 26 road points of the national territory identified by their accident rate, including bus terminals.
Among the measures of the DGPMPT are to verify the psychophysical integrity of the personnel (operator), for which medical exams in operation that include: general inspection; purposeful interrogation; assessment of vital signs and ocular and tendon reflexes and psychomotor coordination; cardiac area scan; detection of ingestion of alcoholic beverages, and assessment of signs of fatigue.
Also, there will be toxicology tests for the detection of psychotropic or narcotic substances.
Meanwhile, the DGAF will carry out review of units in federal public transportthrough Weight and Dimensions and Physical-Mechanical Conditions operations of federal and private cargo vehicles on highways under federal jurisdiction.
For it, the physical-mechanical conditions in buses of the main passenger terminals will be exploredin order that they comply with the security conditions to provide the service.
