One of the best-known faces on social networks is that of the Mexican speaker and writer, Daniel Habif, who through his messages and reflections has managed to shake the emotions of the thousands of people who follow him. He visited Guadalajara a few days ago to talk about his recent book “Roar or wait to be devoured” (Planet) where it starts from three concepts: “Inspire”, “Inflame” and “Roar”, which will help the reader to understand their limits and achieve a greater mastery of their capabilities.
About, THE REPORTER chatted with him about this text that stems from his successful “Ruge” tour. “One can write with all the enthusiasm in the world, but ultimately the public is the one who decides. One writes because if it doesn’t wither and clearly reach a third book it can be heard easily, but it’s not just writing it, it’s promoting it, taking it, placing it, talking about it and you seek to dignify this type of text, giving it the space that one considers it deserves. it deserves. So, it is a lot of work and the desire that one has when finishing a page or a chapter, always with the desire that when someone reads you, they will be supported, accompany them and help them heal in something “.
Daniel’s previous works are “Inquebrantables” and “Las trapas del miedo”. “Getting to this third book has been important, because I’m not the same from when I started it to when I finished it, in fact I’m already writing the fourth, but let’s see how it goes, so far it’s going very well.”
Daniel points out that his evolution developing three texts during this time is evident. “’Unbreakable’ are many pieces of me, like when a mirror falls and the same image is no longer reflected; ‘Roars’ that same mirror stuck together with all those pieces with an image full of breaks, but that doesn’t embarrass me. In essence I am the same person, but I think my opinions have been amplified, some have become more radical.
Regarding the three concepts from which his new book starts, Daniel points out that “Inspire” consists of locating the battle you want and what are the tools you have, “You don’t lead in the same way in war as in peace. So, one has to clearly choose the weapons that he needs to advance. You cannot live improvising even though the uncertainty and the hows appear with their benefits. ‘Inspiring’ has to do with stopping, with the same breath, giving yourself a space of serenity, tranquility and saying: ‘sometimes I go very fast and I lose track of why I am going so fast’”.
He expresses that one must question why one is going to that point, why there is an effort involved, how one’s vital energy is recovered and what are the talents and aptitudes one has.
Speaking of the concept “Inflame”, he expresses that this has to do with putting in order and prioritizing the tools that are available to build a battle plan. “Here I am going to build the routes I want to take, knowing that I have to be flexible, that I have to make decisions about how I am going to take this risk and if I am willing to pay this or another price. So, inflaming has to do with charging your chest and saying, ‘these are the weapons, now it’s time to load them’”.
And finally there is “Roar” which for him is to move forward, “‘Roar’ that is, I’ve already prepared myself, I know what I’m made of and this is a point of no return, from here I’m willing to build a creature of new dimensions. And it’s not that my chain is longer, but now I’m willing to break it because I contained myself with all this mental oppression that I put on myself, but now I decide to walk lighter, letting go of what is not to be carried and being willing to move forward ”. He confesses that roaring has to do with starting to live in the tone in which you want.
“Along the way you will probably realize that there is no perfect plan, that you will have to have the ability to take other ideas, but to roar is to need to move forward”, a moment where the truce has ended and now it is time to achieve those goals that are desired He confesses that this internal cry that we all carry, we don’t always know how to get it out, “I include myself, because healing takes time and this is not when you want, but when everything is in order, when you have prioritized your priorities, one has to fix it for inside and have conversations from which you clearly do not come out unscathed.
It ends by saying that “Roaring” is not a confrontational or violent posture, but rather it is about untying what one binds oneself. For him, this is a process that he continues to experience every day, “because many desires inhabit me that are not always in harmony, because many of them may be full of vanity and others may be focused on another type of fulfillment or peace. So, making synergy with these things and balancing them is very fine knitting and it is constant learning, that is why you must have the attitude of a student, because believing that you already know it is as if you were ready to die”.
Daniel hopes to return to Guadalajara in November for the Guadalajara International Book Fair (FIL). While he will continue to promote his book in Colombia, Argentina, the United States and Spain. “I am very focused on my pen, I want to open new paths, not only the one of the conferences, and for that I need to have time to prepare myself”. The fourth book that is in progress will talk about love.
