In previous episodes of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt… My search for Ciri takes me to Novigrad, a city of religious fanatics, corruption and witch burnings. After a reception full of threats, I meet with Triss Merigold to obtain information. She doesn’t know where Ciri is, but she has a contact who can help me. Before I go, I help him out with a quick job.
My meeting with Triss Merigold’s contact didn’t go as planned, even though I’ve been completely honest about what I know about Ciri. However, I am not leaving empty-handed: the key to finding Ciri is held by my old friend Buttercupa troubadour womanizer and a bit of a liar who I always have to get the chestnuts out of the fire.
My investigations into Jaskier’s whereabouts lead me to the local rosemary and thyme, a tavern that he has inherited and which is currently abandoned. The panorama is unfortunate: drunkards, beggars, squatters… Suddenly I hear some screams that could well be from Durin himself. Zoltan Chivayanother old friend (this dwarf), appears down the stairs with a club in hand and chasing several thugs to the front door.
The reunion with the dwarf does justice to the mood of his people: happy, sincere and energetic. Despite their bad temper, dwarves are loyal and friendly like nobody. After catching up, I ask him about Dandelion. He has no idea either. He’s been taking care of the place (or trying to) ever since he disappeared without a trace.
The place is upside down, but I manage to find a thread to pull from: the agenda de Dandelion with a fairly detailed list of citations. We decided to divide the list and visit Jaskier’s hookups. Perhaps he is still enjoying the pleasures of one of them in their bedrooms or drunk in some brothel.
Dandelion’s love affairs: lies, broken hearts and fencing lessons
The list that touched me has a total of 5 women which Jaskier has probably conquered by promising the moon, a thousand and one jewels, lands or who knows what other follies. I am not an expert on the matter. I wouldn’t get a compliment even if they pointed it out to me with the lights of an airport runway. Back on topic, the names of the girls: Vespula, Elihail, Marabella, Molly and Rosa var Attre.
My first stop is the house of Vespula. I find a group of thugs trying to extort her into paying a protection tax. What happens in this city that I only meet scum? I intervene. I tell them that Vespula has a new protector and they can go get some fresh wind. It looks like I’m going to have to put them to the sword, but they end up leaving with their tails between their legs.
Vespula thanks me. He doesn’t know anything about Jaskier and she’s so angry that she doesn’t even want to see him… but at the same time she wants him to come back. I don’t understand it and I don’t care. I decide to leave the woman with her things and head to the next girl’s house.
Elihai It is in a textile store. The clerk attends me quickly. Asking about the girl, he goes into the back room almost without saying a word and comes out dressed as a woman. Dandelion likes free love. Considering the sick people who run the city, I like to see that my friend is not prejudiced. The girl knows nothingso I cordially say goodbye.
The next stop is Marabella. I admit that this would be the ideal for Dandelion to settle down! She is about a teacher who is giving classes to her students. She chose the path of education and patience, and waited for her to finish teaching her class. She shares her concern for Jaskier and she regrets that she can’t give me information. 0/3, I’m starting to get impatient.
The penultimate girl is Molly. The house is located in the wealthy area of Novigrad. I’m with Morvran Voorhisa Nilfgaardian officer who managed to exhaust my patience in Vizima, and with the Baroness of Valletta. I had a run-in with the La Valette family in The Witcher 2… and managed to keep my blade away from the meat. The situation is tense. Molly is a servant and she is at the racetrack, so I have no choice but to accompany them.
Once at the racetrack, Voorhis challenges me to a race of horses. It’s never a bad time to hurt the pride of a Nilfgaardian… and to take the Higher Racing Chair from him. I’m not sorry, mate. I say goodbye to the Baroness cordially and ask Molly about Dandelion. He doesn’t know anything, but she tells me that his “sister” might know something. Dandelion has no sister. Interesting fact.
Return to Novigrad. There is only one girl left: Rosa was Attre. The house is once again in the wealthy area of Novigrad. The gate is guarded by a guard. He politely asks her to speak to Rosa and decides to accompany her refusal with a touch of threats. I make a detour and enter the back of the house.
It turns out that the twin sisters var Attre, Rosa and Edna, enjoy confusing people and whoring themselves in the process. Both deny their relationship with Jaskier and point out that their courtship attempts were ridiculous. In short: the only thing they know is that Dandelion kept talking about such a Callonette. Is it Jaskier’s “sister”? I give Rosa a few fencing lessons, we flirt a bit and she asks me to come back another time. Obvious!
I return to Romero y Thyme to share my discoveries with Zoltan. It turns out that the dwarf knows who Callonetta is, although he knows her by another name: Priscilla, a renowned troubadour from Novigrad. Finally a solid track! Priscilla sings that same night in a tavern in Novigrad, so I already have destiny.
