Dear Diego, the maxinaked segment, of which the R 1250 R belongs, is today polarized towards performance. For this reason, when we organize a comparison, the most sensible choice is to deploy the most gritty model.
Furthermore, the fact that the BMW range is very articulated goes somewhat to the detriment of the number of opportunities that every Bavarian has to be compared. Suffice it to think, for example, that there are currently four large-engined naked bikes on the price list: R nineT, R 1250 R, S 1000 R, M 1000 R.
A bit of bad luck has recently been added to this picture for the R 1250 R. We thought of it for a comparison with the Moto Guzzi V100 Mandello. Both twin-cylinder, have a similar price and promise comfort and fun in generous doses. This mattered because, at the time of the test, the R 1250 R in the 2023 version was not yet available.
