WASHINGTON – President Joe Biden announced to run for a second term. This opens up the possibility that he will be confronted again Donald Trump .
Biden announced his re-election as president of the United States (US) in a video.
“The question we face is whether in the coming years we will have more freedom or less freedom. More rights or less,” he said in a video titled ‘Freedom’ posted on his social media account Tuesday (25/4/2023) ) morning local time.
“This is not the time to be complacent. That’s why I’m running for re-election,” he added as quoted by ABC News.
The video announcement focuses on Biden’s closing argument for the country, citing four more years in office to get the job done — a line he previewed during his State of the Union address this year.
“Every generation of Americans has faced a moment when they have to defend democracy. Defend our personal liberties. Defend our right to vote and our civil rights. And this is our moment,” Biden said in the video.
“Let’s get this job done, I know we can,” he said.
As part of that closing argument, Biden also called out “MAGA extremists” for attacking “fundamental liberties” in the video.
