Mary Boquitas is premiering “En boca cerrada”, the podcast in which she tells her version of the events, in relation to the experience she lived with Gloria Trevi and Sergio Andrade, and in the most recent chapter she touched on the subject of Lucero, who worked with the music producer when she was very young, ensuring that -at the time- Her abuser told her that the reason she stopped working with “Lucerito” was because the young woman told her family that she was attracted to him, so her mother and father took it upon themselves to keep them away.
Since last week, María Raquenel Portillo -as she is currently known- has been promoting her new project; the podcast “En boca cerrada”, in which she recounts some passages from her life and, of course, an important part of them were the episodes she lived with Sergio Andrade, who was her husband at the age of 14 , and music producer.
“With your mouth closed you will find many experiences in chronological order, I have been telling you a story from the moment you have to meet María Raquenel and give you a little more idea of where I come from, of my family, of my school, of more or less my situation”, he detailed in an interview with Michelle Rubalcava.
According to what Portillo narrated, in the eighties -when she was still a girl- she wanted to become an artist, as she said in class when asked what she wanted to do when she grew up, so little by little she integrated to shows of children’s groups, because he opened the concerts for them, until a person who knew Sergio Andrade told her and her family that they could introduce him to him, since he had already finished his work collaboration with Lucerito.
It was then, as María Raquenel recalls, when on May 8, 1984 -at the age of 14- she was summoned, together with her mother and father, in an office located in the neighborhood of Valle, and although it had time to be received, the producer received them up to eight hours later.
“I looked at him and immediately directed my eyes to the ground as I always did because of my unbearable shyness; I managed to see that he was a man neither fat nor skinny, neither handsome nor ugly, but with a very intimidating look with a firm voice and very sure of himself”, narrates in the second chapter of this podcast.
It was then, without much emotion, but convinced, that after he performed “La maldita primavera” he told her that she was the artist that Mexico was waiting for, so he told his relatives that he would produce it.
At that moment, he gave them a contract, in which he requested that seven songs be learned in two days, a situation that excited Portillo because Andrade He had a very good reputation within the music industry, as he had written great hits alongside Lucerito.
At that time, María Raquenel learned to play the bass, the piano and to sing. In addition to teaching her what she knew about music, her famous remembers that Andrade became her friend, asking her questions about her personal life, for example, what was the relationship between her mother and father like , detracting from the love that her family had for her, expressing to her that she could count on him and trust.
Over time, the music producer also trusted him with part of his life, expressing that when Lucerito left his life he had left his heart broken, so Boquitas, who admits that he fell deeply in love with Andrade, for which he made an effort not to disappoint or hurt him, as he claimed had happened with the Mexican singer: “(I made an effort to be) more obedient, more submissive, more faithful, more of everything…”.
“He used to tell me: ‘You won’t do what Lucerito did to me, right? On one of our escapades Sergio began to talk insistently about his famous ex-artist. That freaked me out, I didn’t understand why every time he mentioned it to me more as if it were a competition,” he said.
“Look at Lucerito, I did so much for her, all the songs I wrote for her and as soon as she told her parents that we liked each other they took her away from me, he complained in a pitiful voice and warned me that if I told my family about us, they would do the same and never let us see each other again,” he declares.
According to what Portillo narrates, Andrade insisted on telling her that Lucerito broke her heart and, by the time she was at Raquenel’s side, she was still heartbroken.
