GARUT VOICE – Prof. Dr. H. Muhammad Amien Rais, MA Was chairman of the People’s Consultative Assembly of the Republic of Indonesia from 03 October 1999 to 30 September 2004. He was also known as a Muhammadiyah figure.
On April 9, 2021 Amin Rais declared the Ummat Party, in that declaration the general chairman of the Ummat Party was also revealed, namely Dr. ing. H. Ridho Rahmadi, S.kom. and Deputy Chairman of the Ummat Party is Agung Mozin.
The party, which is still relatively new, recently issued an unreasonable statement.
Quoted from the YouTube channel @partaiummatofficial Ridho Rahmadi in his speech said out loud that the Ummat Party is an identity political party.

“We will say loudly, yes! We are the Ummat Party, yes! We are identity politics,” he said.
Identity Politics, which incidentally we know is prohibited in Indonesia, was even openly formed by the founder of the Ummat Party, Amien Rais.
In a conversation with Amien Rais on the YouTube channel @AkbarFaizalUncensored Former Member of the People’s Representative Council (DPR) Akbar Faizal revealed that if the Identity Party is not managed properly, the Identity Party will experience the first threat of splitting society, division of interests, discrimination and political manipulation.
Amien Rais considers identity politics as part of democracy and let the people judge which one is the best.

In Rizal Akbar’s podcast, Amien Rais also revealed that if Anies Baswedan doesn’t get a ticket in the 2024 presidential election, he will firmly support Prabowo Subianto.
“This is supposing, if it’s very easy this answer Prabowo is our choice, which is definitely not Mr. Ganjar. Mr. Ganjar is the continuity of this present regime and that will be dangerous in my opinion,” he said.
