RoboCop and Legally Blonde will be some of the franchises that will have new projects from Amazon Studios
Amazon bought the studio MGM in March 2022 for the amount of 8.5 billion dollars, acquiring a large number of franchises from the production company. After a year of the purchase, we already have news about what Amazon plans to do with its new sagas.
According to Deadline, RoboCop, Stargate, Legally Blonde, Fame, The Barbershop, The Magnificent Seven and The Pink Panther projects are being developed, among other properties. The medium clarifies that each project will be treated differently, since some only go to the television part or to the big screen, while the most popular franchises will receive both movies and series.
Legally Blonde and Stargate are two of the properties that will span both film and television. The information says that Amazon Studios is thinking of making a show and a movie set in the world of Legally Blonde. Also, a Stargate series and movie are in the early plans. Deadline also claims that RoboCop might be the first franchise to first have a show before hitting the big screen with its own movie.
On the other hand, Fame, The Barbershop and The Magnificent Seven will have their own series, while The Pink Panther would have an animated film. Besides, Poltergeist may have its own project.
