There is no perfect console. It is a fact, since any electronic system has errors (more or less serious, but it does). Of course, PS5 does not escape this axiom, although today it presents fewer problems than at its launch.
In November 2020, PlayStation 5 came under fire for a series of bugs related to sleep mode. Today, in 2023, we can say that these problems have been solved.
But that’s not to say that while you’re using your PS5 no other errors can arise. Like any electronic device, there can be software or hardware errors, but luckily we have a full list of PS5 error codesand what do they mean.

You most likely don’t know what the error codes mean. Nothing happens, because in this report We will explain what each one consists of, and we will provide you with a solution about it (if there is one, of course).
Most of the errors are related to connecting to the PlayStation Network servers, although there are also codes for internal errors.

CE-107880-4
An error related to loading a game or application through the PS Store. can also happen when we reserve a PS5/PS4 game, or purchase a DLC on the PlayStation digital store.
The message displayed on the screen is this: ”An error has occurred”. It can happen when we click on the content we want to purchase or have already purchased, but also when we want to start the download and installation.
For example, something similar happened months ago with The Witcher 3 DLCs. Sometimes, the system tries to access the DLC from the PS4 version, which sometimes is not compatible with the content.
To fix this error, you can access PS Store from your browser to check if the download is still active. Another option is to restore the licenses (in System / Users and accounts / Other).
CE-108255-1
Bad business with this error code. ”A game or application error has occurred” is one of the more bizarre PS5 issues, and one that apparently doesn’t seem to have a concrete solution. It can be displayed when running a specific game, or when starting any game on the console.
At the moment Sony does not provide a concrete solution in this regard. Some players see this error appear in many of their games, while others never see it on the screen.
The most recommended is contact Sony PlayStation support. Your PS5 console may need to be sent in for repair, but you can try resetting your system via PlayStation 5 Safe Mode first.
CE-108862-5
One of the most famous errors in relation to connection problems. Normally, this error appears when we try to access the online features of a specific title. The message is as follows: ”Unable to connect to the server”.
The first thing you should do is check the status of the PSN server. In the event that all functions work correctly, you should check the status of the servers for that particular game (on the official website or on the company’s social networks).
If there are no irregularities in the state of the servers, the only thing we can recommend is to wait a while. You can too reset your access router or reconfigure your Wi-Fi network on PS5.
CE-105799-1 / CE-113212-0
These two PlayStation 5 errors are similar to the previous one, but in this case it will happen with all games… so it may be a general problem. The message is the same: ”Unable to connect to server”.
To rule out, the first thing you should do is check the status of PSN servers on the official website of Sony PlayStation. In case everything works correctly, we will proceed to the following.
Turn off your router, unplug it, wait 5 minutes and turn it back on. If the problem persists, then restart the PS5 console and set up the Wi-Fi connection again with the same access point.
As a last measure, it may be necessary to change the location of the router, or update the firmware of the device.
CE-107520-5 / CE-108889-4
In this case, we are talking about two errors related to the firmware version that we have installed on PlayStation 5. In other words, the console is not updated to the latest version, and therefore it does not work correctly.
This is the message that will be displayed on the screen: ”Please install the latest version of the system software”. As the notice itself indicates, to fix it you must update your PS5 console.
PlayStation 5 will automatically start downloading and installing the update when connected to the Internet. If not, you can also download the new firmware and install it on your PS5 via a USB drive.
In this link you can download the latest version of the system firmware. Next, go into PS5 Safe Mode and proceed to install the update.
CE-11773-6
One of the most serious problems that can appear on PS5. Fortunately, there is a solution, since it is about incorrect user account verification when starting a game, DLC or application.
The error message is this: ”An error has occurred”. To solve it, you can check the status of the PSN servers, because maybe it’s due to a general connection problem.
If the servers are fine, then you must enter the PS5 settings, and click on the Users and accounts / Other / Restore licenses tab. It is an error related to the first code of this list of errors.
NP-102955-2
The usual login error. When unable to complete login to psnthe console will display the following message: ”The account information is incorrect”.
Basically, all you have to do is get logged in with your PSN account. If you are sure that the email and password are entered correctly, then you can try to check the status of the servers.
If there is no problem at a general level or they are not under maintenance, then You can try to reset your PSN password (or change it). Ultimately contact Sony PlayStation customer service.
NP-104602-3
The message associated with this error (”An error has occurred”) may be very typical, but this is also one of the strangest problems that can appear on a PS5. This is an error related to the Internet connection.
As in previous cases, the first thing we will do is check the status of PSN servers. If they work correctly, then we will proceed to test the connection to our Wi-Fi network from the Internet settings.
In case the test is unsuccessful, then you can try to restart the router (waiting for 5 minutes, of course) or change its location. also try to reconfigure the Wi-Fi network.
If the error persists, we recommend apply the following network settings in you PS5:
Go into your Wi-Fi network options (within network settings on PS5). Tap on Wi-Fi frequency bands. Change the setting from Automatic to 5 GHz or 2.4 GHz. If using an Ethernet connection, or if the issue persists, proceed to the following. Go into Advanced Settings. Change the DNS parameters to these: 8.8.8.8/8.8.4.4 (Google public DNS) or 1.1. 1.1/1.0.0.1 (Cloudflare DNS).
Other error codes
These are the most notorious error codes, but they are NOT the only ones. PlayStation 5 has other error codes, but most of them are almost identical (in their base) to those that we have already explained to you.
In case your error is not related to these, you can enter this link and manually look up your code. Entering it will display all possible related news (if any).
In the same way, There are databases on the Internet. that users have created to identify each and every one of the errors present in PlayStation 5.
Which makes more sense: PlayStation 5 Pro, PS5 Slim, or jumping straight to PlayStation 6?
In case you are unable to fix the error, you always have the option of contacting the PlayStation support page. Even, it may be necessary to send the console to the technical service.
First of all, if your problem is related to the Internet connection, we recommend that you take a look at the PSN service status page. You can check if the error is general or specific to your connection.
Have you suffered any of these errors on your PS5? If so, you will find a solution for it, although in some cases Sony has not yet provided a definitive remedy. Remember that you should also clean your console frequently, to avoid hardware problems.
