The Chinese manufacturer mounts adjustable suspension and a brand new single-sided swingarm on the updated version of its entry-level sports car
March 1, 2023
Apparently the single sided swingarm is becoming a new status for sports shoes made in China. After seeing it on the CF Moto SR 450, on the Zeths 500 ZFR and on the Kove 400 RR and Cobra 125, now we can also see it on a new version of the Zongshen Cyclone RC 401 R. The rear single-sided arm has always been linked to sportiness, to the world of competitions as it offers advantages in terms of weight, in general, and the speed with which the rear wheel can be accessed. Finally, it certainly has an aesthetic impact.
Every now and then we see it coming back into fashion but it has always been associated with high-end motorcycles and considered a plus for more valuable versions. This must certainly be the reason that is also driving Chinese manufacturers to adopt it for the sportier versions of their models. It is also the case of Zongshen who introduces the R version of the RC 401 presented last year. In addition to the swingarm, we find KYB adjustable suspension and braking system Juan with double front disc and single rear disc with Bosch ABS. The engine is the same 401cc parallel twin liquid-cooled eight-valve with single overhead camshaft. The power is of 45 CV a 9.500 giri/min and the maximum speed is 150 km/h. The price is 31,980 Yuan which at the current exchange rate corresponds to 4.343 euro which would make it a really interesting entry-level sports car, but at the moment we don’t know if and when it will arrive in Europe.
Zongshen also puts the single arm on the RC 401 R
