We often continue to ask ourselves, before buying headphones, what could be the best solution for get hold of a product that meets our needs. This is a question that even I struggle to find a concrete answer to, due to the vastness of the products available on the market.
We often find ourselves wandering around some electronics stores thinking about which of the hundreds of headphones could prove to be the ideal choice, especially if the target is gaming. In fact, the greatest demand among consumers is precisely related to headsets to be used in videogame sessions because there are many, too many headsets, which exploit more and more cutting-edge technologies to improve the gaming experience, especially in Esport video games, where a good product can make the difference in a match. Well, just in the last few days, we at GamesVillage have had the privilege of receive and try out the customizable ZOLA headphones from Teufel.
For those unfamiliar with the company, Devil is a German manufacturer responsible for making products such as speakers, headphones, hi-fi and home cinema systems. That said, we tried the ZOLA headphones through relentless testing over several days, but were they up to the job? Let’s find out together in this review.
ZOLA: the keyword is customization
Let’s start by talking about the packaging of the headphones. The Zolas introduce themselves right out of the box in a very elegant and attractive way, with different customization options, such as the bearings, which convey a good feeling of comfort. That said, before plugging in your headphones you will need to customize them using all the accessories included in the case. In short, the ZOLAs are highly customizable, and this is the strong point of this headset.
As for the unboxing experience, let’s say the headphones are presented in a very professional way, also considering that the cardboard box does not take up much space. Certainly not one of the reasons why a consumer buys a product of this type, but the ZOLA headphones have proved their worth in this respect. Now is the time to see other aspects of the product but, given the price, I would have expected that at least the headset was somehow supported by a wireless connection, but unfortunately that was not the case. Obviously, wired headphones have a number of problems, such as that some cables may deteriorate over time and lead to some product problem, other than the inability to play audio. Scenarios of this type have already happened to us, even if, usually, we don’t have this type of problem for cheaper headphones, but given that we are talking about a product with a price of 130 euros on the store Tfuel, the problem must be asked.
Instead, focusing on the sound of the headphones, I must say that I was particularly satisfied: ultra-lightweight drivers with enormous stroke, which put even 50mm drivers in the shade, redefine the standards, and this feature increases the quality of ZOLA headphones. We can say with absolute certainty that the headphones are well made in terms of sound quality, in fact, I also tried some Esport games, and I must say that, although the headset was not designed for competition, it does its job. Work. As for single player games, even in that case the headset performs very well, especially in video games from the horror genre, where the audio is more noticeable and the gaming experience becomes nothing short of terrifying, obviously in a positive way.
Headphone features
Let’s say, as already mentioned above, ZOLA headphones they are extremely versatile, although there is a substantial flaw regarding the microphone. Going specifically, the quality of the microphone leaves much to be desired: in fact, we recommend using a external microphone to improve the quality of your voice, because as if that weren’t enough, your voice will also be very low. This represents one of the big flaws of the ZOLA headphones, because everything will feel very muffled. In short, the microphone side of this headset is very flawed, the only interesting feature resides in the detachable speakerin fact it is possible to give up the microphone and use the headphones hearing only the audio.
That said, there are two ways to hear the sound: via jack like any headset or via a USB connection which will allow you to have a substantial improvement in the headset ed support for l’audio Surround 7.1. This will allow you to exploit the full potential of ZOLA headphones: the headset in fact gives the user the possibility to easily manage the audio levels or enable or disable the microphone. In addition, ZOLA headphones have the DTS Headphone X 2.0 Surround Soundalso enhancing stereo games, permitting better localization of individual sounds. Speaking instead of the length of the wire, it seemed long enough.
In short, we can say that, despite some evident shortcomings, the Teufel branded headphones offer sensations of comfort and not only that, thanks also to the audio features just mentioned, just a shame about the poor microphone. In addition, if you want to further customize your headphones, the company gives the user the opportunity to do so Tramite l’app Teufel Audio Center.

ZOLA headphones are good headphones for those looking for quality headphones and don’t want to spend too much. The various sound technologies made available with the headset, such as 7.1 Surround Sound and DTS Headphone X Surround Sound are excellent features, especially in the gaming environment to hear individual sounds precisely. The ZOLAs are also highly customizable with the various bearings made available by the company, where you can buy other accessories on the site, obviously spending more. The flaws regarding this headset are mainly related to the microphone, since the voice quality is not too high and it is not possible to hear your own voice when we start talking, hearing everything muffled and at a price of €130 I would have preferred that the latter were wireless, given the cost. In essence, the ZOLA headphones are good headphones and actually deserve to be praised, with a few flaws
