The new Inter Academy Chile will be developed in two centers of excellence in the area: the Ciudad Universitaria y del Deporte of the Universidad San Sebastián, one of the main higher education institutions in Chile which focuses on the value of the training process, fully embracing the philosophy behind the Nerazzurri project, and Club LAF (Club Liga Amigos del Fútbol), a sports club with a long tradition and which boasts a state-of-the-art sports centre, the official headquarters of the Inter Academy in Chile. “We are extremely happy to be here to inaugurate a new Inter Academy in an area that has always had a great footballing tradition and a great love for the Nerazzurri colors – said Javier Zanetti – This new project shares the attention that Inter has always paid to training the new generations and will allow Chilean children and young people to grow up wearing our jersey while remaining in their country of origin”. Ivan Zamorano echoed him: “I am very satisfied with the birth of the new Inter Academy project in Chile. I have a great relationship of friendship and trust with the Nerazzurri club. I am happy to be the ambassador of the project in my country and to be able to contribute to the training of our young athletes, not only from a sporting point of view but also from a human point of view”. “The Club Liga del Fútbol”, which offers an 8-hectare facility in the heart of Peñalolén, and the USS Sports City, one of the main private universities in the country which has a top-level sports club within it, will be the headquarters of the project with 200 children already enrolled. The goal is to add more schools in the Metropolitan area of Santiago soon.
